Are you on the voters list for 1999 general local elections?
City of Vancouver, Vancouver School Board and Park BoardThe List of Electors is being prepared for the general local elections to be held on Saturday, November 20, 1999.
If you are eligible to vote in the general local elections for the City of Vancouver and School District No. 39 (Vancouver) including the University Endowment Lands, you will select for a three-year term, the Mayor, Councillors, Park Commissioners and School Trustees, and be asked to vote on other municipal matters.
Persons registered as provincial electors in the City of Vancouver and the University Endowment Lands by July 14, 1999 have been automatically included on the City List of Electors.
To determine if your name is on the List of Electors, or for more information, contact the Vancouver Elections Office at 873-7681 or visit one of the registration centres listed below.
Where do I register?
Applications for registration will be accepted at the Vancouver Elections Office, 450 West Broadway from September 7 to 28, 1999, weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Who is eligible to vote?To be eligible to register and vote in City elections you must:
Non-resident property owners may also be eligible. To determine if you are eligible to register and vote as a non-resident property elector, contact the Elections Office, 450 West Broadway, at 873-7681. Only one non-resident property owner is permitted to register and vote per property. No person may vote more than once in the City of Vancouver election.
- be a Canadian citizen
- be 18 years of age or older
- have, immediately preceding application for registration as an elector, resided in the City of Vancouver for 30 days and in B.C. for six months.
List of ElectorsStarting October 5, 1999, until the close of general voting on November 20, 1999, a copy of the List of Electors will, upon signature, be available for public inspection at the Office of the City Clerk at City Hall (453 West 12th Ave.) and at the Vancouver Elections Office (450 West Broadway) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
Objection to registration of an electorThe List of Electors prepared for this election will be available for public inspection as stated above. An objection to the registration of a person must be made in writing to the City Clerk by a person eligible to be registered as an elector, no later than 4 p.m., October 15, 1999.
Omitting personal information of electorAn elector may request that personal information respecting the elector be omitted or obscured from the List of Electors to protect the privacy or security of the elector. Contact the Elections Office for more details.
