Regional Bodies
Greater Vancouver Regional District (Metro Vancouver)
35 Directors represent 21 member municipalities and one electoral area. Directors are appointed by the Councils of member municipalities, based on one director for every 100,000 people in the municipality. Vancouver has six directors, including the Mayor and five Councillors appointed by Council. Most directors also serve on Boards of the Greater Vancouver Water District, and the Greater Vancouver Sewerage & Drainage District. Board members are paid $350 (this rate is doubled if the meeting runs over four hours) by the GVRD for each meeting of these boards.
