Carnegie Centre and Gathering Place to Re-open

The City of Vancouver and its union, CUPE 15, have reached an agreement to re-open the Carnegie Centre and the Gathering Place. The Agreement was made this afternoon at mediation services and was the result of an application for essential services by the City.

The Agreement guarantees that CUPE 15 will not strike either of these facilities. It also requires the union to give the City 72 hours notice of any intent to strike these two operations.

All staff and volunteers who perform functions at these facilities will be allowed to return.

It is expected that Carnegie Centre will re-open on Sunday morning and Gathering Place on Monday morning.
