City’s Bus Impact Task Force Seeks Public Input

The City of Vancouver’s Bus Impact Task Force will hold a public meeting to gather input on the impact of buses and commercial motor coaches in Vancouver.

The meeting will be held:

Saturday, April 15, 2000
2 – 5 p.m.
Vancouver Public Library
Central Branch
350 West Georgia Street
Alma VanDusen Room

This is an opportunity for the public to voice concerns about buses and motor coaches, as well as provide input into the Task Force’s report to City Council.

Members of the Task Force, as well as staff from various City departments will be on hand to present information and possible options.

The Bus Impact Task Force was appointed by City Council in March, 1999 to provide advice and recommendations to Council on areas such as noise, pollution, congestion, routing, public awareness, and the benefits of mass transportation.

If members of the public cannot attend the meeting, comments and concerns can be sent to the Bus Impact Task Force by fax to 873-7419 or e-mail to kal_penner@city.vancouver.bc.ca

It is expected the Task Force will present their report to Council in the late spring.
