symphfire2000foodbank.gif (29160 bytes)Watch the Symphony of Fire fireworks displays, and donate to a good cause at the same time.

The Symphony of Fire fireworks competition will take place in Vancouver’s English Bay on the evenings of July 29, August 2, 5 and 9, 2000.

On these evenings, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank is accepting donations of non-perishable food items on behalf of all Lower Mainland food banks. Donated food items will help replenish the Food Bank’s depleted shelves.

The map to the right shows traffic restrictions in the West End and Kits Point during fireworks displays. It also show the following locations where donations to the Food Bank will be accepted:

  1. Davie & Denman (Morton at Denman)
  2. Broughton & Beach Ave. (in parking lot)
  3. Arbutus at Cornwall (in parking lot)
  4. Maritime Museum parking lot

As always during the Symphony of Fire, members of the public are encouraged to use public transit. Pedestrians should wear light-coloured clothing; cyclists should be equipped for night-time riding; and boaters must have appropriate night-time running lights.
