TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Waterworks Construction on Grandview Highway
Will Cause Delays

Four blocks of Grandview Highway, between Lakewood Drive and Nanaimo Street, will be affected by waterworks construction from January 17 until February 15, 2000.

The City must replace an aging section of water main in the area. The work will close one lane of traffic on the south side of Grandview Highway.

These four blocks will remain open to all vehicle traffic, but expect delays and parking closures along Grandview Highway. Motorists may want to consider alternate routes. Sections of the sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians.

The City will minimize the disruption by limiting the closure to one lane of traffic eastbound, during morning and midday hours. No lane closures should be necessary during afternoon peak traffic times.

The replacement of the water main is expected to improve water quality in the area, increase water volume for fire fighting, and reduce the risks and costs of future water main breaks.
