The Southeast False Creek Walkway provides public access to the last remaining section of waterfront land that was used for industry. Most of the original trees and greenery along the waterfront have been perserved, and an asphalt walkway and fence installed for public comfort and safety.

The new walkway is a testament to the City’s dedication to keeping most of Vancouver’s waterfront property open to the public. Vancouver is now the only city in North America with such a waterfront walkway system. The walkway is also an important part of future plans for creating a sustainble community in Southeast False Creek. The new section was built by the City’s Engineering department with City funding and a generous contribution from Vancouver Molson Indy.

Note to electronic media outlets: A digital video with a time-lapse tour of the entire waterfront walkway is available for use by calling Thomas Donovan at 604-871-6064.
