City Prepares Voters List for Election 2002

The City of Vancouver is preparing the Voters List for the general local elections to be held on Saturday, November 16, 2002.

In this election, voters will select a Mayor, 10 Councillors, seven Park Commissioners and nine School Trustees, each for a three-year term. Voters will also decide other matters such as borrowing money for the City’s proposed Capital Plan.

To vote in the November 16 election you must be a Canadian citizen; 18 years of age or older; have lived in British Columbia for at least six months, and in Vancouver for at least 30 days.

To find out if your name is on the Voters List, or to get more information, call the Vancouver Election Office at 604-873-7681. Voting information is also available on the City’s web site at www.city.vancouver.bc.ca/vote
