City of Vancouver News Release

Advance voting for Election 2005

The City of Vancouver will hold a general local election on Saturday November 19, 2005. For people who can't vote on that day, the City has advance voting opportunities on:

November 5, 9, 15 and 16 (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) at:

  • City Hall (453 West 12th Avenue)
  • Dunbar Community Centre (4747 Dunbar Street)
  • Trout Lake Community Centre (3350 Victoria Drive)
  • West End Community Centre (870 Denman Street).

All locations are wheelchair accessible.

Advance voters must complete a declaration stating their reason for voting in advance. Reasons for advance voting include:

  • you will be out of town on November 19
  • you will be unable to vote on November 19 for reasons of conscience or circumstances beyond your control
  • you have a physical disability or impaired mobility
  • you are a candidate or candidate representative in this election
  • you are an election official in this election.

Voters can also register to vote at one of the above advance voting locations by producing two pieces of identification (one with a signature on it) to show eligibility, and completing and signing an application form.
