City of Vancouver Election Office now open

To prepare for the municipal election on November 15, 2008, the City of Vancouver has opened its Election Office at 450 West Broadway. The office will be open 8:30 a.m. to
5 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays) until November 28.

Election staff are now available to handle public enquiries about registering, voting, and running as a candidate in the upcoming election.

Vancouver citizens who wish to vote in this election must register to vote, either in advance (until September 23 at 5 p.m.) or in person on voting day.

Citizens can also go to the City's election website at vancouver.ca/vote for detailed information on the voting process, how to get registered, where to vote, and other related information. The website includes:

  • information request form
  • voting place look-up tool
  • registration forms for voters
  • information packages for candidates, elector organizations and campaign organizers

To raise public awareness about voting in the upcoming election, the City will be conducting outreach activities at public venues and events over the coming months. Outreach staff will provide information about voting in the municipal election and will also be able to register voters.
