Update information on your business licence account
If you would like to make changes to your existing license, you must complete and submit a Business Licence Change of Information form with payment of the appropriate fee. You will find a link to the form at the bottom of the page.
Changes include any amendments to a:
- Business name
- Trade name
Change business address to a residential location
If this is a change of business address from a commercial location to a residential location, you will also be required to complete and submit a Home-based Business Licence Application form. You will find a link to the form at the bottom of the page.
Change of business ownership
If this is a change of ownership, you must do one of the following:
- Apply for a new business licence OR
- Transfer the business licence from the current licence holder to you

Change of address or business classification
If this is a change of mailing address, the change of business address fee does not apply.
If this is a change of business address or business classification, various approvals may be required:
Depending on the zoning of the proposed location, your business may or may not be permitted, or may only be permitted after a Development Permit is obtained. To find out if your type of business is permitted in the chosen location, contact the Enquiry Centre.
A review of the property will be provided by staff at the Occupancy / File Research Counter. The review may result in the requirement for a special inspection of the building or a Building Permit.
It may be necessary to obtain other approvals from the Police, Fire, or Health Departments. Staff will assist you with this process.
