The Equal Employment Opportunity Program (EEO) works with City departments and staff to create a workplace that is respectful and welcoming of diversity, and to integrate principles of fairness, diversity and inclusiveness in all City policies and practices. Our program is guided by two Council policies, one on equal employment opportunity and the other on harassment prevention.

Equal Employment Opportunity Program
We support departments in recruiting and retaining a qualified workforce that reflects the rich diversity of our community. EEO supports and contributes to City initiatives that enhance the accessibility and inclusiveness of City facilities, resources and processes.
EEO is an impartial and confidential resource, providing assistance to City Departments and staff on issues related to human rights and harassment prevention.
EEO's goal is to create workplaces that reflect the diversity of the community we serve, and continue to support diversity by ensuring welcoming, respectful, harassment-free workplaces. We encourage you to find out more about our services by calling or dropping by our office located on the main floor of City Hall near the north entrance.
Services
EEO provides many services, including:

- Providing a supportive resource to all Departments, to promote “best practices” in areas related to human rights.
Workshops
Learning and Leadership are two of the City's key values and EEO is proud to contribute in each of these areas. Our training programs are designed to provide staff with the knowledge and skills necessary so that they may lead from wherever they are in the organization. Many of our programs are developed with the input from a “creative team” of front-line staff and managers drawn from different departments. This helps us to ensure that we are addressing issues relevant to the many worksites in the City and in ways that are meaningful to the employees.
Current training programs are listed below. Please note that registration for any of our workshops is through the EEO Office, not through CityLearn.
