Two-Day Workshop
Workshop Overview:
This two-day workshop will focus on strategies and resources for managers in recruiting and retaining persons with disabilities, Aboriginal Peoples, immigrants, and women in non-traditional occupations. The goal is to support the City and its line and hiring managers in developing and sustaining a qualified, diverse workforce.
Audience:
- Line and hiring managers and supervisors, including those in acting positions
- Human Resources staff

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Increase line and hiring managers’ knowledge and skills in recruiting and interviewing individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Dispel myths and break down barriers that inhibit effective recruitment, retention and promotion.
- Identify essential principles and practices in effective community outreach and advertising.
- Examine strategies for creating supportive and inclusive workplaces, including accommodation practices.
- Provide a toolkit of resources.
