Promote Your Event
There
are several ways you can let people know about your event. One option
is to list your event for free on the City's
Community Calendar. Once you have confirmed your event location and
date with the Special Events Office, use this
calendar link or look for the Community Calendar logo on the City's
Home Page and select "Add New Event" to enter your event information.
The media is also a great tool for spreading the word. You can either
inform the media (radio stations, etc.) of your event, or pay to put an
ad in the newspaper.
Another option is postering. The City has a by-law which prohibits putting
posters on any pole or street furninture. There are, however, several
"poster cylinder"
locations
(PDF)around the city where promoting your event through postering
is encouraged.
