Hastings Park neighbourhood event parking regulations
Important information for those parking in resident only parking spots and residential backyards
Temporary and Permanent "Resident Parking Only" (RPO) zones are strictly enforced in the Hastings Park neighbourhood. These restrictions help ensure local residents can park near their homes during the PNE and other special events at Hastings Park.
Some residents park visitor vehicles in "Resident Parking Only" areas and charge a parking fee. THIS IS ILLEGAL. The Parking Enforcement Branch will ticket and may tow any vehicle that is parked in an RPO zone that is not registered to an address in that block.
Backyard parking
Starting September 13, 2008, City and police staff will be patrolling the neighbourhood to ensure residents selling backyard parking comply with all City relevant By-laws.
These increased patrols are necessary due to a growing number of complaints regarding traffic congestion and safety, late night noise and other disruptive activity in the neighbourhood.
These actions will reduce the availability of backyard parking, so we encourage you to consider using the PNE lots, taking transit or riding your bike to events.
