Ridgeway West Greenway Completion

The Ridgeway Greenway is part of a City-wide network of enhanced pedestrian routes or greenways and has been under development since 1995. When completed, it will extend from Central Park in Burnaby to Pacific Spirit Park at UBC. For most of the route it follows the topographic ridge of the city and provides views northwards to the city, mountains and water.

A survey was mailed out to Ridgeway area residents in May 2005 seeking their opinion on pedestrian improvements proposed along the Ridgeway Greenway.  The proposed pedestrian improvements in the survey are an outcome of the Ridgeway Greenway process.  These improvements have been revised, reviewed and updated in consultation with the community at open houses held in March 2005.  The survey results were reported to City Council on October 18, 2005 and Council approved these improvements (see map below for improvement locations).

Construction of these pedestrian improvements is scheduled to start in 2007.
