Transportation Plan Progress Report for 2000

Content of this Summary

This Progress Report and Project Schedule provides an update on the status of the Transportation Plan Major Initiatives for 2000. For completeness, information from the first two months of 2001 has also been included. An update on the Major Initiatives was first reported to the Standing Committee on Transportation and Traffic in July 2000. At this meeting, the Committee requested that staff report back with a summary that provides greater detail. This more detailed summary may be found by clicking on the links found in the table below or the links located in the left-hand navigation bar of each page.

Initiatives are presented in the order that they appear in the Transportation Plan. An estimate of when projects are to be completed is listed under the "TIMING" column. For example, "1-3" years in this column indicates that a project is estimated to be completed in the current 2000 to 2002 Capital Plan. In some cases, the projects have been incorporated into annual work programs, for implementation as budgets and opportunities permit - in this case, timing is shown as "Ongoing".

Additional information on two projects not specifically referenced in the Transportation Plan Major Initiatives, Greenways and the Bus Impact Task Force, have been added to the end of Neighbourhoods (NP) section of this version of the Project Schedule.
