Rapid Transit Office

Easy and convenient transportation is key to Vancouver's status as one of the world's most livable as well as sustainable cities. Between 1999 and 2008, transit trips in Vancouver went up by 20 per cent.

Together with TransLink, the City is committed to providing access to a variety of effective transit choices, connecting Downtown, neighbourhood centres and regional destinations to encourage even greater transit use.

Working on transit projects and policy, the Rapid Transit Office supports the development of accessible and efficient transit options, enhancing livability in the city of Vancouver.

Major projects include:

• UBC Line Rapid Transit Study (Commercial-Broadway to UBC)
• TransLink's existing rapid transit projects:
  (Expo Line, Millennium Line, Canada Line & the 99 B-Line Bus)
