Traffic Management: Bikeways & Greenways

A network of bicycle and pedestrian routes are being developed throughout Vancouver. Traffic circles, corner bulges and turning prohibitions are used to deter motorized vehicles from the bike and pedestrian routes. Pedestrian and cyclist activated signals are installed in coordination with greenway and bikeway routes. A greenway is a linear route of green space and natural habitat. The greenway also links parks, water access and desination points so people are able to walk, jog or bike to them.
