In order to ensure that City Streets are as safe as possible, a variety of programs, tools, regulations and incentives exist. Please also find on this page information on a variety of transportation options and the Vancouver International Airport. |
Traffic Reports
- Road Ahead - For updated information on construction taking
place on city streets, please see Road
Ahead website.
- Roads Report - For the latest road and weather conditions,
please see the BC
Provincial Roads Report (or for a more localized Road Report, see
the Lower
Mainland).
- Intersection Safety Camera Program - British Columbia's Intersection
Safety Program rotates cameras among 120 high-collision intersections
throughout the province. The intersections are chosen with the help
of local police and accident data from the past. Vehicles proceeding
through the intersection during the non-green periods are monitored
at these locations. Currently there are 26 camera locations in the City
of Vancouver. For further information on the program contact the attorney generals office at 604-952-3319.
- Air Quality - Air quality control in Vancouver is monitored
by the Greater Vancouver Regional District. For information on the GVRD's
programs and objectives related to air quality, please
see the GVRD website.
- Other mobility choices - Find detailed information on the use
of skates, scooters and skateboards on Vancouver roadways.

- Carsharing - An increasingly popular alternative to private
car ownership. Find information about this program on the Cooperative
Auto Network website.
