Diplomatic Forum visits Olympic Village, October 8, 2009

Coastal WolfpackThe City hosted a luncheon at the Olympic Village for visiting ambassadors and high commissioners from 95 countries taking part in the 12th annual Diplomatic Forum in Vancouver and Whistler (October 6 to 10). The forum is an annual conference coordinated by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) that brings together ambassadors and high commissioners who are accredited to Canada for a series of briefings on current Canadian public policy issues.

Other guests included 2010 partners, Olympians and Paralympians, Tourism Vancouver partners, Vancouver Economic Development Commission and local business leaders, as well as executives and architects involved with the Southeast False Creek Project.

Salt BuildingGuests viewed display boards and presentation tables highlighting the Southeast False Creek and Olympic Village site as well as examples of the City’s green initiatives. The Olympians and Paralympians, together with a First Nation drumming group (Coastal Wolfpack), lead guests from the Salt Building across the plaza to the civic centre.
