Grade-3 Fire and Life Safety House
The Fire & Life Safety Education Division operates a Grade-3 Fire & Life Safety House Program which can be booked by schools for the purpose of learning fire and life safety.
The 'House' is a portable classroom for both children and adults on a trailer, which can be taken on location. Throughout the school year, over 5000 grade three children are given an 80 minute lesson in the 'House' where they are taught to make an escape plan, and how to escape if there is a fire in their own home.
Special thanks are in order to The Home Depot, Terasen Gas, McDonald's, Telus, Ad-Print, London Drugs, the Royal Bank, Honda Canada and the Vancouver South Lions Club for their generous support in helping make the program possible.
