General Description of Requirement
The City requests Applications from companies with expertise in the recyclable materials industry who have the ability to manage processing and marketing of either multi-stream, dual-stream, or single-stream recyclable materials. In moving towards the City’s greenest city goals, the City of Vancouver (“City”) desires to capture additional materials accepted under its existing source separated multi-stream residential recycling program. The City is also investigating the feasibility of switching from its current source separated multi-stream recycling system to a single-stream or dual-stream recycling system. Also, the City recognizes the Province of British Columbia has added packaging and printed paper to the Recycling Regulation, and that Extended Producer Responsibility (“EPR”) programs will come into effect in May 2014 for residential packaging and printed paper. How this EPR program will affect the City’s residential recycling programs will be determined once the EPR programs publish their draft stewardship plans in 2012.

1198 East Kent Avenue South, Vancouver, BC.
Please assemble outside the office trailer.
This meeting will enable Applicants to seek clarification on RFEOI issues in a communal forum.
