Change of Mailing Address
The City of Vancouver issues tax notices and utility bills using the mailing address provided by BC Assessment. Address updates must be made via the BC Assessment website (see information further below). *Only a property owner may change the mailing address. Tenant requests to change the mailing address for either the tax notice or utility bill will not be processed either by the City of Vancouver or BC Assessment.
Changes of address provided to other City departments do not result in changes for property tax notices, utility bills or BC Assessments.
- *The only exception is for strata complexes of three or more units, in which case owners or managers should submit utility bill address or management company changes in writing to:
- City of Vancouver

- Vancouver BC V6B 8R1
Important: Depending on the Statement Date, submitted changes may not be reflected on your next notice.

For City of Vancouver properties, complete the required fields as follows:
- First Name
- Last Name or Company Name
- Assessment Area: must be set to Vancouver Sea to Sky (08/09))
- Assessment Roll Number:
- First two fields are always 09 200 (as shown above)
- The final field requires the 15-digit Assessment Roll number (no dashes or spaces). The Assessment Roll number is the 3 digit neighbourhood code followed by the 12 digit folio number. It can be found in various ways:
- It appears in the top of your BC Assessment Notice
- It can be obtained through the BC Assessment website under e-valueBC by entering your property address
- By contacting BC Assessment (contact information available at www.bcassessment.bc.ca)
- By contacting the City of Vancouver Property Tax office (propertytax@vancouver.ca).
