Children and Families Community History Maps

Involving children and families in community history mapping projects gives children a good understanding of geography and an appreciation for the neighbourhood they reside in. This project works with local community groups by telling colourful stories of the neighbourhood from the community's perspective.

An artist is working with local community groups to create a map reflecting personal stories of the area; highlighting it as a family-friendly place. 3,000 copies of the map will be produced and distributed to neighbourhood agencies and posted on the Strathcona Community Centre Association’s website.
