With one-quarter of Vancouvers green-house gases coming from cars, transportations role in the EcoDensity initiative is central to the discussion. Cities around the world with excellent public transit systems are also the ones with a high density of people who can easily access and support those transit systems. On May 24, 2007, Dr. Larry Frank, UBC School of Community and Regional Planning, spoke to the interaction between land use, travel behaviour, air quality and health.
