Employment opportunities for City employees
City of Vancouver employees should register (once), then login to use their candidate profile to view and apply for positions. How? Follow the applicable sections in the Internal Candidate Quick Reference Guide. Why register? See the benefits.
If you are not a City of Vancouver employee, view the Employment Opportunities page.
Note: Employees of Vancouver Police Department, Vancouver Public Library, Ray-Cam and Britannia will need to review job postings and apply through the (external) Employment Opportunities page. Find out why.

Instructions
City of Vancouver employees are strongly encouraged to register and start their own Candidate Profile/Employment Opportunities, then use them to apply for jobs:
- Register (just once) to start a candidate profile (a secure, online resume). Have your employee number, first and last name from your pay advice handy.
- Login to update "My Profile" (your profile remains 'as is', waiting for you to apply for a position)
- Login to select jobs and apply using the Application Wizard (see "Apply" section of the Quick Reference Guide). You will receive an e-mail confirmation when your Application is received - this should take only a few minutes.
Benefits of registering
- Registering allows future applications to be completed quickly, since tabs 1-6 are a copy of your Candidate Profile (update as needed for the job). Complete tabs 7-11 of the Application Wizard to submit your application for the job - this takes only a brief moment.
- Log into and use your Candidate Profile/Employment Opportunities at any time from anywhere to apply, see the status of your application, submit draft applications, to withdraw your name from a competition, or sign up to receive notifications when jobs are posted.
- It is highly recommended that you take the time to complete "My Profile" to ensure hiring managers have enough information to determine if you meet the requirements for a position.
- Keep your contact information up to date in the "Preferences" section of "My Profile."
Candidate Profile tips
- In section 7, release (or unlock) your profile so that the hiring manager can view it.

Application Wizard tips
- Sections 1-6 are copied from your "Profile"; complete sections 7-10 to ensure your application is submitted.
- Not ready to submit your application? Close the wizard and return to your 'Employment Opportunities' tab, "My Applications" section to complete and submit your application.
