Tonight at approximately 8:30pm, Park Board  staff became aware a few people had relocated from Oppenheimer Park to set up camp near the Totem Poles in Stanley Park and additional people were arriving.

Because of  concerns about this situation and in addition the several fires, which occured in the Park over the last 48 hours, staff and VPD have closed the entrance to the Park on the north side of Georgia Street.

Parks across Vancouver are all closed at 10:00pm and staff and VPD will be keeping access to this part of the Park closed overnight. After discussion with Park Board staff and VPD, the campers have agreed to leave the Park voluntarily.
