All day kids' programs at community centres this week during teachers' strike

Trout Lake Community Centre in Vancouver

Park Board community centres and other facilities are responding to the BC Teachers’ Federation continuing job action by offering day-long programming this week when public schools in Vancouver are closed.

Community centres with daycamps

Fifteen community centres across the city will have daycamps from June 16 to 20 with indoor and outdoor play. They are:

  1. Britannia
  2. Champlain Heights
  3. Coal Harbour
  4. Creekside
  5. Dunbar
  6. False Creek
  7. Hastings
  8. Kensington
  9. Kerrisdale
  10. Killarney
  11. Marpole-Oakridge
  12. Renfrew
  13. Sunset
  14. Trout Lake 
  15. West End

Golf courses with golf camps

McCleery and Fraserview golf courses are putting on daily School’s Out Kids Golf Camps for various age groups.

Pools and Granville Island Water Park

Most pools, including outdoor ones, offer daytime public swim sessions. As well, the spray park at Granville Island is open 10:00am – 6:00pm this week, with the full water park open 11:00am – 3:00pm.
