Awards of Excellence 2014 celebration

Help celebrate outstanding achievements by local individuals, organizations, and youth at the City of Vancouver Awards of Excellence gala.
 
Taking place on Monday, July 6 at the Orpheum Theatre, this public ceremony will recognize the outstanding work of local residents and organizations whose contributions continue to improve the city we proudly call home.

The gala will boast live performances by acclaimed local artists, such as four-time Juno Award-winner Prevail, and the Carnival Band. 

Celebrate leading edge people

“Vancouver is known for ingenious, passionate, leading edge people who make this city such a remarkable place to call home,” said Mayor Gregor Robertson.

“The Awards of Excellence celebrate achievements and contributions that benefit all of us by making Vancouver an even healthier, happier, more prosperous and harmonious city, and the gala is an important opportunity to recognize the leadership and volunteerism that takes place in neighbourhoods throughout Vancouver,” said Mayor Robertson.

Nominees honoured in five categories

Presented by Mayor Robertson and hosted by Riaz Meghji, co-host of CityTV’s Breakfast Television, the awards will honour nominees in five categories: 

  • Accessible City
  • Civic Volunteer
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Greenest City Leadership
  • Healthy City for All

The gala takes place on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 6:15pm to 8:30pm at the Orpheum Theatre, 601 Smithe St., Vancouver.
