City crews catch up on garbage collection

January 13 2017 Your patience appreciated as extra crews are deployed to keep up with garbage collections

We would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding during the recent weather-related collection delays.

This week, crews were hard at work salting and sanding difficult-to-access laneways. Additional crews were added to assist with garbage collection.

We're pleased to confirm that crews were able to catch up on garbage collection for all zones as of today.

Crews continue to work to ensure safe access

Crews are continuing to salt and sand difficult to access areas to ensure safe access is maintained.

In some areas, they are manually moving garbage containers to a spot where they can be collected and are then returning them.

If in the unique case your garbage was missed, please phone 3-1-1 and crews will be sent out to service your home.

Green bin update: crews working through weekend

With the added focus for crews to complete garbage collection, delays for green bin are expected. Crews will be working throughout the weekend to service missed areas.

Please help us prioritize what needs to be picked up: only set out your green bin if it is full.

We sincerely appreciate your ongoing patience during this time.

Recycling collection update

We have continued to work closely with Multi-Material BC (MMBC) and their contractors to coordinate salting operations based on daily recycling collection schedules.

MMBC continues to have additional crews working this weekend and into next week, if necessary, to support recycling collection and service difficult to access areas.
