City of Vancouver appoints new Director of Corporate Communications

After a national search, the City of Vancouver has appointed a new Director of Communications, Rena Kendall-Craden.

Ms. Kendall-Craden brings 11 years of provincial government communications experience to the City having served as Communications Director for eight ministries in both economic and social portfolios. She also brings more than two decades of experience in journalism, television production and strategic planning. 

Ms. Kendall-Craden recently served as founding partner at KendallWood, a public relations firm headquartered in Victoria, BC.

Prior to starting her consulting company, she had a career with the provincial government that included providing strategic direction and implementation support for softwood lumber negotiations, the provincial budget, and issues management for the 2010 Winter Games with experience in the deployment of websites, social media, and stakeholder engagement.

Ms. Kendall-Craden will lead a team of communications staff that includes media relations, internal and external communications managers, and social media and engagement specialists.

She begins her position on November 25.
