Today, City Council approved a motion extending the implementation of the new building bylaw from July 1, 2014, to January 1, 2015. The existing Vancouver Building Bylaw will remain in place until the end of 2014.

With the implementation date extended to January 1, 2015, builders can take an additional six months to prepare for the new building bylaw. Those builders who are ready to apply, are encouraged to take advantage of using provisions in the new Vancouver Building Bylaw.
