CONNECT: The Gathering Place's 9th Annual Art Show opening night

CONNECT is an exhibition which bridges the diversity of Vancouver’s Downtown South Neighbourhood by showcasing the artwork of some of the area’s most vulnerable populations alongside established artists who live or work in the community. Over 200 works of art will be showcased, including paintings, photography, sculpture, pottery and mixed media work.

Exhibition details

After opening night, the exhibit is open from noon to 6:00pm, April 21 to 30, 2017.

About the Gathering Place

Operated by the City of Vancouver, the Gathering Place is the only community centre in Vancouver’s Downtown South which primarily serves vulnerable populations. This includes people on low income, people with disabilities, seniors, people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, youth and people who are homeless. 

The Gathering Place serves the community by providing accessible and engaging programs and service in the following areas:

  • food and nutrition
  • health and hygiene
  • education
  • information, mail and messaging
  • recreation and fitness
  • arts and culture
  • community development, and
  • volunteer opportunities
