"Doors Open Vancouver is a great way to experience Vancouver's architecture, green design, art and cultural heritage - a behind-the-scenes look at how the City works for our residents every day."

Skwachàys Lodge Aboriginal Hotel and Gallery

There's no shortage of behind-the-scenes access to some of the most interesting and unusual buildings in Vancouver at this year's Door's Open Vancouver.

Whether it's atop the rooftop garden of the Skwachày's Lodge Aboriginal Hotel & Gallery or a guided tour with popular civic historian John Atkin of the Marine Building, once the tallest building in the British Empire, there is much to see.

What to see

"Doors Open Vancouver is a great way to experience Vancouver's architecture, green design, art and cultural heritage - a behind-the-scenes look at how the City works for our residents every day. This year's Doors Open promises to be second to none and I encourage all residents to get out and experience the City's most iconic and interesting buildings and spaces."

Other new locations the public will have access to this year include the Scotia Dance Centre and the Bell Tower of the Holy Rosary Cathedral.

Also new this year, the City has partnered with the Port of Vancouver to offer two free one-hour cruises on the Burrard Inlet aboard the Magic Charm where participants will learn about the history of the Port and its operations as well as the impact of sea level rise to the area. Pre-registration is required and there is currently a waitlist.

Popular past venues make a return once again, notably the False Creek Energy Centre, Fire Protection System Pump Station and Vancouver Animal Services Shelter.
