Golf, swim, skate, or jump on a cardio machine during the holidays

Families looking for something to do during the holidays have many options at Vancouver Park Board recreation facilities including, for the first time ever, golfing on December 25th!

Winter holiday hours at recreation facilities

All community centres, fitness centres, pools, rinks and golf courses will be open throughout the holiday season, including many on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The following facilities will be open December 25:

  • Fraserview, Langara and McCleery golf courses
  • Hillcrest, Kitsilano and Trout Lake fitness centres
  • Hillcrest and Trout Lake community centes 
  • Hillcrest, Kerrisdale, Trout Lake and West End rinks
  • Vancouver Aquatic Centre

The following facilities will be open January 1:

  • Fraserview, Langara and McCleery golf courses
  • Britannia, Dunbar, Hillcrest, Kerrisdale, Killarney, Kitsilano, Marpole-Oakridge, Mt. Pleasant, Templeton and Trout Lake fitness centres
  • Britannia, Hillcrest, Mt. Pleasant and Trout Lake community centres
  • Trout Lake, West End, Hillcrest, Kitsilano, Killarney and Sunset rinks
  • Vancouver Aquatic Centre and Britannia, Kerrisdale, Killarney and Templeton pools

Seasonal lights displays

Seasonal lights at the giant sequoia in George Wainborn Park, Lost Lagoon Fountain in Stanley Park and Elm Grove at English Bay will be turned on daily until January 7. Bright Nights in Stanley Park runs until January 5, while Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden runs till January 4. Both holiday events will be closed Christmas Day.

Park Board offices

The Park Board Administration Office at 2099 Beach Avenue will be closed between December 25 through January 1, reopening January 2.
