Dr. Carstedt is one of Europe's most prominent business leaders and has run some of the world's leading companies. Widely acknowledged as one of the world's most practical presenters on leadership, organizational learning, and change, his presentations are lively and thought provoking. Goran acts as an advisor and coach to various European, US and Asian organizations and serves as chairman and board member for several corporations. He is the former head of IKEA Retail Europe and served as a member of the IKEA Group Management Board from 1990-1997 and as President of IKEA North America from 1990-1995.
He is chairman of the City of Gothenburg’s Green Economy Committee (as part of their 400th Birthday Celebration planned for 2021) and The Natural Step International (a non-profit organization with a scientific approach to sustainable development). Previously, Dr. Carstedt has been a Senior Director of the C40 Large Cities initiative of the Clinton Climate Initiative and is a senior advisor to the Society of Organizational Learning (SOL) Global Network. Recently, he moderated an important dialogue with the leading economists from China and the West, including Lord Nicholas Stern, on the greening of the Chinese Economy, organized by the Stockholm Environment Institute.
