Families looking for something to do during the holidays have lots of options at Vancouver’s park and recreation facilities!

Many of the Vancouver Park Board’s recreational facilities and attractions will be open for business throughout the holiday season, including some on Christmas Day.

The following facilities will be open December 25:

  • Ice rinks at Hillcrest, Kitsilano, Trout Lake and West End community centres;
  • Pools at Hillcrest Centre and the Vancouver Aquatic Centre; and,
  • Fitness centres at Hillcrest, Kitsilano and Vancouver Aquatic Centre.

Many facilities will also be open on New Year’s Day.

Seasonal light displays at Park Board facilities will be offered every day, except Christmas Day, until January 1, 2013. Seasonal lights are illuminated every evening at the Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden, Jewel Box of Lights at Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park and Bright Nights in Stanley Park.

The Park Board Administration Office at 2099 Beach Avenue will be closed between December 25 through January 1, reopening on January 2.
