Nominations open for People’s Choice Heritage Awards

Our Heritage Awards program is looking for the People’s Choice of the best examples of excellence in restoring, rehabilitating, and revitalizing local heritage buildings or features in the city.

Over the years, we have recognized the extraordinary work in preserving our diverse heritage through the Heritage Awards program. This year, the People's Choice stream of the program invites you to submit nominations.

The People’s Choice winners will be recognized at the City Heritage Awards ceremony in May 2015.

Submit a nomination for the People's Choice Award

Who can submit a nomination for the People's Choice Award

Nominations are open until April 10, 2015. There is no cost to submit nominations.

Submission requirements

  • Anyone may submit a nomination for the Heritage Awards People’s Choice award.
  • You do not have to be the owner or tenant of any building nominated.
  • You may submit as many nominations as you would like.
  • Any kind of heritage building, structure, or landscape is eligible.
  • Nominations must be accompanied by a photo and brief description of the project.

Following the nomination period, we will host a voting period where you can select your favourite nominations on our website.

About the Heritage Awards

The Heritage Awards, which are held every other year, acknowledge the special accomplishments, projects, and efforts which have furthered the goal of heritage conservation in the city.

Winners of the Heritage Awards are chosen by an independent jury made up of members from the Vancouver Heritage Commission and the public.
