Nominations open for People's Choice Heritage Awards

February 24 2017

Leek House, 2013 Heritage Award winner

As part of our Heritage Awards program, the City of Vancouver is inviting nominations for the People's Choice awards for projects that restore, rehabilitate, or revitalize local heritage buildings or features.

Anyone may submit a nomination for the People's Choice Heritage Awards to recognize even small efforts in preserving heritage buildings, structures, or other features located in Vancouver. You do not have to be the owner or tenant of any building nominated. Nominations must be accompanied by up to three photos and a brief description of the project. There is no cost to submit nominations.

Nominations are open until March 18, 2017, 11:59pm PST.

After the close of nominations, the website will host a voting period until April 8 and the public can cast votes for their favourite nominations to help decide winners.

The People's Choice winners will be presented in conjunction with the City of Vancouver Heritage Awards ceremony in April 2017.

The Heritage Awards, which are held every other year, acknowledge the special accomplishments, projects, and efforts which have furthered the goal of heritage conservation in the city. Winners of the Heritage Awards are chosen by an independent jury made up of members from the Vancouver Heritage Commission and the public.
