History

At 152 metres above sea level, Queen Elizabeth Park is the highest point in Vancouver. Originally quarried for rock that was used to build Vancouver’s first roads, the park was dedicated in 1940 after the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (mother of the current queen).

The 52-acre park is home to Bloedel Conservatory, a quarry garden, sculptures, including Knife Edge Two Piece by internationally renowned artist Henry Moore, and recreational features such as tennis courts, pitch and putt, and lawn bowling.
