Rent-Lease-Own Survey

October 25 2012 Help needed to understand the real estate challenges affecting non-profit and cultural groups in Metro Vancouver

The Real Estate Institute of BC (REIBC) and the Social Purpose Real Estate Collaborative (SPREC) are pleased to announce the RENT-LEASE-OWN survey, a research project to benchmark the real estate rates, terms, and conditions in which social purpose, not-for-profit, cultural organizations, and artists function in Metro Vancouver.

Whether by month-to-month rents, longer-term leases or ownership, it is extremely challenging for this sector to hold property within Metro Vancouver’s high-priced and limited real estate environment.

Survey results will be used to inform future policy developments by REIBC and SPREC, and make the case for supporting social purpose real estate in Metro Vancouver.

This online survey is being hosted by a leading professional research firm, Mustel Group working with CitySpaces Consulting Ltd. All responses are strictly confidential and privacy protected. Your identity will not be revealed to the study sponsors and results will be reported in aggregate or unidentified comments.

If you are an artist, cultural organization, not-for-profit or social purpose business or organization, please help by completing this survey. You could win a free iPad. Go to: http://www.socialpurposerealestate.net/  to enter.

RENT-LEASE-OWN is sponsored by the Real Estate Institute of BC and the Social Purpose Real Estate Collaborative with funding by the Real Estate Foundation, City of Vancouver (Cultural Services & Social Development), Vancity Foundation and Vancity Credit Union.
