Local architecture and design celebrated at inaugural Vancouver Urban Design Awards

“Our Urban Design Award recipients are excellent examples of how innovative and imaginative design complements Vancouver’s natural beauty,” said Mayor Gregor Robertson.

Ten projects that represent the highest standards of architecture and urban design are the recipients of the first-ever City of Vancouver Urban Design Awards.

The winners were honoured at a ceremony on Monday, September 15, 2014 at VanDusen Botanical Garden.

“Our Urban Design Award recipients are excellent examples of how innovative and imaginative design complements Vancouver’s natural beauty,” said Mayor Gregor Robertson. “Vancouver’s designers are now renowned across the globe, and their extraordinary work greatly enhances the vibrancy and livability of our city.”

Winners were chosen in nine categories, along with three special jury awards. The 2014 Vancouver Urban Design Award recipients are:
