We're looking for great people to join our theatre teams!

Attend our fall job fair to discuss great new career opportunities at Vancouver's four civic theatres. We provide a dynamic, unique, and diverse workplace with competitive wages. These roles are ideally suited for part-time employees.

Security and Stage Door Attendant job openings

A Security and Stage Door Attendant is responsible for providing a range of security, access control, customer service, first aid and safety functions at the Vancouver Civic Theatres (VCT) and its venues, Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Orpheum, Vancouver Playhouse and Annex. The position responds to a variety of situations, both emergent and non-emergent in order to maintain a safe and secure environment.  

Position requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12 at a minimum
  • Security Officer Training -  Basic Security Traing (BST) minimum requirement
  • Occupational First Aid Level II 
  • A Police Record Check will be required
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Security Officer in a related area
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; booking or events software an asset.

Note: This position requires flexibility in scheduling as work is assigned and involves non-standard hours, including weekday, evening and weekend shifts

Theatre Attendant job openings

Theatre Attendants at the Vancouver Civic Theatres provide support in all areas within the Audience Services Division including ushering, ticket taking, coat check, barista and concessions. All positions are physically demanding, time-sensitive and have significant life safety responsibilities.

Position requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a high level of self-confidence and self-awareness
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of hospitality experience as a food and beverage attendant or in a related customer-service focused area
  • Cash handling experience
  • Serving it Right and Foodsafe Level 1 certificates
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving ability
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • In order to be eligible for shifts, you are required to be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well as a minimum of 1 other weekday evening per week
