Mayor Gregor Robertson will lead a business and cultural mission to Guangzhou, China, to mark the 30th anniversary of Vancouver and Guangzhou becoming sister cities.

The delegation to China's third-largest city will happen over four days, from November 7 to 10.

Councillor Kerry Jang will join the Mayor along with a delegation of nearly 200 people, most of whom are Vancouver citizens with close ties to Guangzhou and China.

The delegation will include:

  • Officials from the Vancouver Economic Commission and Tourism Vancouver
  • Business leaders in Vancouver's clean technology and digital entertainment sectors
  • Members from the Vancouver-Guangzhou Friendship Society
  • Members of other local community groups

Earlier this year, the City welcomed a 90-member delegation led by Guangzhou Mayor Chen Jianhua to Vancouver on June 13 to 16. The delegation included business leaders, government officials, and performing artists from China.
