The Vancouver Park Board is reopening the West End Community Centre as a warming centre tonight.

A decision was made to reopen the facility after a request from Community Services and in consultation with the West End Community Centre Association.

The warming centre will open at 10:00pm this evening.

“I am pleased staff have decided to reopen the West End on another night of below zero temperatures in Vancouver,” said Park Board Chair Michael Wiebe.

Community services will be supervising the program, supported by Park Rangers and security staff.
