The Province of British Columbia has informed us that the October 14, 2017 by-election will include the election of Vancouver school trustees.

Voters will be asked to elect one City councillor and nine school trustees.

By-election details 

Candidate information packages

On August 8, information packages for candidates will be available online and at City Hall on the third floor in the City Clerk's Office.

The nomination period for candidates is August 29 to September 8. During this time, candidates must submit their nomination documents declaring candidacy in the by-election.

When and where to vote

General voting day is October 14 with voting stations open from 8:00am to 8:00pm at approximately 50 locations throughout Vancouver including schools, community centres, City Hall, and one church.

All locations will be announced in the coming weeks including information on advance voting.

A list of candidates and their nomination documents will be available online on September 8. Online biographies will be available later in September.
