Vancouver is abound with local community initiatives that are engaging residents in the cause to make our city a cleaner, greener, healthier place to live. The Change lets you discover local organizations committed to sustainability. Individuals can create a profile and engage organizations in their sustainability journey. Organizations can share their sustainability stories.

Green Club
Since 1999, this non-profit group of Taiwanese and Chinese Canadians has been dedicated to promoting cross-cultural understanding of the unique eco-systems and cultures among Taiwan, Asia and Canada, and to educate the public about the importance of conservation and bio-diversity.

Green Drinks
Green Drinks is monthly gathering for anyone interested in green. Green Drinkers come from all ages, backgrounds and groups - non-profit organizations, academia, government, small business, big business, self-employed, volunteers, students, seniors and concerned citizens.
Be the Change Earth Alliance
Be the Change is a three-fold community engagement program that empowers citizens to understand the fundamental causes of the ecological crisis facing us and to take personal action to meet these challenges.
Vancouver Peak Oil (VPO)
VPO is a group of citizens concerned with creating awareness and action plans to prepare for the coming of oil depletion. Their website aims to provide local information and resources. Check out their events calendar for local events including their monthly meetings.
Programs in Earth Literacies
The vision for this initative developed among a number of colleagues who over the past few years have been participating in circle gatherings, retreats and workshops reflecting on earth spirituality, eco-theology, care for earth, and deep ecology in order to deepen their understanding of the place of the human within the cosmos. We envision a breadth of possibilities within Programs in Earth Literacies to explore what it means to be creatures of Earth and to participate in caring for Earth from that perspective.

BC Sustainable Energy Association
A non-profit society of citizens, professionals and practitioners committed to promoting the understanding, development and adoption of sustainable energy, energy efficiency and conservation in British Columbia.
Society Promoting Environmental Conservation (SPEC)
SPEC is a non-profit charitable organization that addresses a host of environmental issues in British Columbia, with a focus on the Lower Mainland. They operate an Environmental Information Centre located at 2150 Maple Street.
David Suzuki Foundation (DSF)
You know who they are. The DSF is working tirelessly to protect the balance of nature and our quality of life, focusing on both science and advocacy and bringing to light the many issues concerning us - from global warming, to sustainable forestry, salmon farming and clean energy.
Light House Sustainable Building Centre
If you are interested in anything related to green building, then Light House is the place for you. Check out their resources, courses, events and online forum and blog.
Car Free Vancouver
It is about the next level in our evolution toward healthy communities, authentic cultural celebrations, and car-free streets. Events held each June in Kitsilano, West End, Main Street, and Commercial Drive. Get involved and lend your support to make these events happen.
The NOW! Organization
A youth run non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and taking action on sustainability issues. They also believe in doing so through building community and inspiring through the arts. They run NOW What?! Conferences, Act NOW Sustainable Performance Art Competition, NOW What?! Dialogues and are in the midst of creating Take Action NOW.
