David Lam Park

David Lam Park will be LiveCity Yaletown, one of the two free outdoor celebration sites in the city during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

The park will be closed to the public starting October 8, 2009 for site preparation and construction. LiveCity Yaletown events will be from February 11-28, 2010. The park will then close until June 2010 for remediation and improvement.

About the Park
This stunning downtown park is an intricate mix of active and passive recreation opportunities, all with views of False Creek and Yaletown. Sports courts and playgrounds are sheltered by lush plantings, and a large open lawn is perfect for kite flying, resting in the sunshine, or hosting an outdoor festival. David Lam Park is also home to several intriguing sculptures nestled along the waterfront.

History
This park was named in 1995 for British Columbia Lt. Governor David Lam.
