Stanley Park Environmental Art
Project Partners
The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, through its Arts and Culture Office, is pleased to be a partner on the Stanley Park Environmental Art project. This project is truly "Lively and diverse by nature," forming strategic alliances and partnerships with community groups and not-for-profit agencies, promoting the arts in everyday life and supporting creativity and innovative ideas in the heart of the city. Using sustainable environmental practices, Stanley Park and the citizens of Vancouver will be the recipients of a healthier environment and original, imaginative works of art.
The Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES) has been a Park Partner of the Park Board for 20 years, with a Joint Operating Agreement that ensures education, community engagement in habitat restoration, and the operation of Vancouver's only nature centre, the Lost Lagoon Nature House. SPES promotes awareness of and respect for the natural world by playing a leadership role in the stewardship of Stanley Park through collaborative initiatives in education, research and conservation. Their knowledge of the flora and fauna of Stanley Park is invaluable to this project.

Community Arts Council of Vancouver (CACV) has been a pivotal player in shaping the cultural life of Vancouver. It was instrumental in the creation of such institutions as the Vancouver Playhouse, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, and the Vancouver Museum and Planetarium. At present, the CACV has two main focus areas in the community arts: the importance of the arts in marginalized communities; and the potential for environmental arts to contribute to more livable communities. www.cacv.ca
